Local Clubs – Buchanan College Club

Buchanan College Club since 1922

By Sarah Gault

The Buchanan College Club was formed in 1922 to unite the college women of Buchanan to work on the educational, civic, and social issues of the Buchanan community. The purpose of the club is to provide interest-free loans for advanced education to Buchanan High School graduates. Any woman is eligible for membership in the Buchanan College Club who has completed 2 years of study in a college or university.

Since 1952, the club has loaned over $175,000.00 to qualified students. We also give a scholarship at the Honors Banquet to a deserving student based on their merits. Meetings are once a month and include a speaker, from September through May. If you have any questions please email Sarah Gault at sarahcollege27@gmail.com.

A few of our usual fundraisers during the year are having bake sales at the Farmer’s Market, Fish/Chicken Fry at Hill Top Café, and the famous Shop ‘Til You Drop Market. On Monday, April 12th, we would love for everyone to participate in our HACIENDA GIVES-BACK at the Portage Road location in South Bend. Show your coupon and 20% of all sales will go directly to the Buchanan College Club. You can buy gift cards too that would count towards the give-back. Thank you for supporting the BCC!
