Police-Community Partnership – National Night Out

National Night Out was this last Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at McCoy Creek Recreation Area from 6pm – 9pm. This nationally observed event is a chance for community safety departments to come together and for the community to get to know them better. Tons of food, beverages, dessert, and fun were provided. You had choices of hot dogs, subs, cake, cotton candy, and so much more!

For fun they brought out a bouncy house, huge hillside waterslide, dunk tank to dunk your favorite officer, water balloons, and many agencies showed off their cool equipment, like Berrien County Sherriff’s Department’s boat, motorcycle, bomb robot, hazmat suits, and a puppy from their K9 Units. There was face painting, an ambulance with stretcher to explore, and the fire department had a “house on fire” for kids to put out spraying with hoses!

If you missed this year’s event, come back next year as this is an annual event put on by Buchanan City Police Department, Buchanan City Fire Department, City of Buchanan Michigan, One Buchanan, and Buchanan Area Senior Center.
