The Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (aka BAMA), held the Faith and Family Day event at the Common on a HOT Sunday, August 29, 2021 afternoon from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

This is an annual event where BAMA, which is made up of the churches in our town, brings together some great resources for our community.

Available to everyone on a first-come-first-serve basis: a food truck where each family received produce i.e. watermelon and corn, juice, milk, bread and pre-packaged desserts drive-thru style; hot dogs from the Salvation Army, popsicles were handed out by the Lions Club and books donated from RAM, free eye screenings provided by the Lions Club, and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church promoted their youth mission trips.

Lastly, backpacks were available for all ages that were loaded up with school supplies from our great Buchanan churches. Past Lions Club President Mark Skene was part of the praise band that played music at The Commons outdoor amphitheater to entertain the crowd.

Prayers were also being said with others that wanted someone to pray with or for them. Given the hot weather and COVID still on the run, the turnout was on the low side. Any backpacks leftover will be saved for next year’s event.
