BIG News from Buchanan District Library
Submitted by Sarah Gault, Community Outreach Coordinator Buchanan District Library

BIG NEWS! The Buchanan District Library will change our hours starting November 1st, 2021. This change is in response to data collected during our Strategic Planning Survey last spring. Our new hours will keep us open later in the day, extend our Saturday hours, make effective use of library resources and funding, and encourage a healthy work-life balance for our fantastic staff. Please help us spread the news, and as always, thank YOU for supporting YOUR library!

Meet the Author: Stacey Martin
Saturday, November 13th, 11:00am
Join local author Stacey Martin to hear about her latest book, We Grow Kids Here. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Stacey Martin is a Buchanan native who recently stepped down from her executive position as VP of Marketing to stay home and raise her children and pursue her passion as a podcast host and writer. She is the author of two books – We Grow Kids Here and New Girl at Church.
In addition to marketing, Stacey’s professional background includes experience in the political realm in both Lansing and Washington, D.C., a decade of teaching social studies at the secondary education level, and a venture into real estate sales. She is also a blogger, published author, and the creator and host of “The Folks Back Home” podcast – a weekly production highlighting the faces and places of Buchanan. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree of Education in Curriculum and Design.
She is highly involved in her hometown and serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce. She received the award of Buchanan’s Most Influential Young Leader Under 40 in 2017, was named as one of Moody on the Market’s 40 Under 40 recipients in 2019, and was awarded the 2019 Young Business Leader of the Year by the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber. Her latest book, We Grow Kids Here, debuted in the Top 50 on Amazon (#42) in the essay category.
She enjoys being a mom to four growing kids (ages 6 months to 12 years), being an active member of Gospel City Church, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Dave.
