Buchanan Art Center – “Through Their Eyes”
by Madelyn Kitchell
This week I took an adventure to the Buchanan Art Center downtown. Currently they have an exhibit titled Through Their Eyes which contains photographs by Fred Slaski and Frances Sherwood. The exhibit is dedicated to Fred’s late wife Frances Sherwood. I found this exhibit very interesting and would recommend checking it out. It was as though I went on a trip with the two photographers on their travels together.
One of my personal favorites in this exhibit was a landscape photo with a pond, lily pads, and a little “shack” on the land. I loved the reflection on the water and scenery. There are many varying subjects in the photos such as buildings, people, and more. I would recommend going to check out this exhibit.
The art center also has an amazing little gift shop with art from local artists. This would be a great opportunity for those looking to find Christmas gifts while also supporting the local economy. Go check out this exhibit from now until November 6th.
