Review on Buchanan Area Ministerial Association Community Christmas Carol Sing 2021

At 6:30pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Faith United Methodist Church in Buchanan, the Buchanan Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) presented “Shepherds, Angels, and a Manger” Carol Sing and Concert. When you walked into the sanctuary, the church was nicely decorated with three Christmas trees which were adorned by white lights and many red and white poinsettias lined the back part of the stage.
Buchanan area churches took part in this concert as well as the congregation sang some songs in between the groups. There were readings by others from the “Shepherds, Angels, and a Manger.”
Solos, a quartet, “Faith” ful hands group, instrumentalists on trumpet, clarinet, and one choir filled the church with beautiful sounds. Sgt. Harvey Burnett sang “Christmas Shoes” (L. Ahlstrom, E. Carswell, I. Daniel) which of course made me shed a tear. Songs like “Ave Maria” (F. Schubert) sung by Fr. Leo Cartagena – St. Anthony Catholic Church and “O Holy Night” (A. Adam) sung by Pastor Ellen Bierlein – First United Methodist Church, were beautiful! The quartet that sang “His Name is Jesus” (C. Johnson) – from Portage Road General Baptist Quartet: Robert Marker, John Billington, Rocky Kendall & Joni Tumbleson was a rockin’ one! The last group to perform was Buchanan Christian Church’s choir singing “Let There be Light” (S. Krippayne & M. Reynolds). To close the concert everyone sang, “Joy to the World” as we walked out.
Of course I enjoyed all of the concert and would highly recommend that you attend this next year with your family & loved ones. BAMA has this concert at a different church each year, so we will let you know when that time comes.
