Seasonal Sentiments – Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

by Garrick Stubblefield

Winter always comes in the fourth season of the year. As for us Michiganders we brace for it in such a way that it is going to bring us a lot of snow or just outright cold.

As I was a younger kid back in 78 I recall that we were out of school for two weeks and tried to unburden ourselves in 8 feet of snow. I also recall that we lived in a three story house and we would jump off the roof of the second story. Let’s look at the nature side of it. When we get our first snow it is just so neat to see the snow lightly on the tree limbs and the sun hitting just right to make it look like a snow globe.

Can’t forget the times of sledding and ice skating along with skiing and sipping down the hot cocoa to keep us warm. One other note is the driving in it of course it’s not fun to do but that is the only way to get around weather like this. Just remember when driving to be safe and careful when driving out there.
