Youth Mental Health First Aid – May 26
Berrien County, MI – May 17, 2022
Spectrum Health Lakeland understands youth today are struggling with high levels of emotional distress from the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe our communities need First Aiders (like you) who are equipped to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and addiction issues, as well as care for ourselves.
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6 ½ -hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem – and help them connect to appropriate care.
