Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly PERC Breakfast at Life Action Ministries

A bright and sunny Friday, May 13 morning at Life Action Ministries on 2727 Niles-Buchanan Rd of Buchanan was the setting for Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce’s PERC Breakfast. Donny Vanker, who has been at this location for 20 years, gave an overview of what Life Action does. A breakfast was filled with egg burritos, fruits, cinnamon rolls with coffee and orange juice along with a lovely tour of both locations: The Lodge and Life Action headquarters.
Life Action Ministries reorient lives with Jesus and experience God as He is. They have this building and The Lodge (which is over a 100 years old) that is just a driveway over to enjoy a retreat on the St. Joseph River where you can pause and reconnect with God. Donny states, “Our mission is to ignite movements of authentic Christianity. We are happy to host, we’re Life Action and want to bring life everywhere they go.”
Brandon Bishop is a contact person for those who would like to host events at Life Action. Life Action Camp is already filled up for the whole summer! You can find the camp at the west end of town as you head to Clear Lake. “We are a destination location as in The Lodge, and we call ourselves state-side missionaries. We are trying to bring families to Buchanan” stated Donny. They have family camping, men & women retreats, etc… at Life Action Camp. There are counseling services with pastors and hoping to go with individuals.
As of right now, they have three teams on the road with 25 per team that are college-age where they travel throughout the country. “Life Action is a non-denominational ministry, so we visit any church that will allow us to preach the gospel and proclaim biblical truth. We have been all over the United States, and we have even visited other countries a few times!” (Life Action website)
