Summer Concert PSA from School of American Music

The Harbor Country Singers present the first summer outdoor sing-along of the year, “Solstice Jamboree” on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 6:30 PM.  The free event will take place on the School of American Music’s Spring Creek Stage, 14 Maple St., Three Oaks, Mich, behind the Arts & Education Center.  In case of rain, it will be moved to the Shelter House at Carver Memorial Park, US 12 and Elm St., Three Oaks, Mich.

Music in the provided song book includes “California Dreamin'”, “I’m a Believer”, “Unchained Melody”, “When the Saints go Marching In”, and many other great songs.  Garth Taylor will be accompanying the singing on the guitar, and Harbor Country Singers members Donna Mitchell, Diane Ruzevich, and Pat Putnam will be leading the singing.  Everyone is invited to join in, and musicians are welcome to bring their instruments to play along. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

About Harbor Country Singers: Formed in 2016 and directed by Cindy Dryden, the Harbor Country Singers is an independent community chorus that rehearses and performs Christmas music for seasonal concerts and patriotic and traditional songs for performances in connection with community events. Individual members and smaller ensembles formed by Singers members perform at hootenannies and lead sing-alongs throughout the year. The Singers has performed at area churches and libraries; the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, Mich.; the Chikaming Township Hall, and at the School of American Music’s own stage at the Three Oaks Arts & Education Center.

About School of American Music: The School of American Music was founded by D. Garth Taylor to serve as a music resource in Michiana. Currently serving as President of SAM, Taylor has been joined over the years by Executive Director, Donna M. Mitchell and a full Board of Directors. Their mission is to provide education, performance, and audience opportunities in music and the related arts in the Southwest Michigan area.
