It is almost time for our annual “Scarecrow Invasion”! The volunteers at Buchanan Scarecrow Charities have been working overtime throughout the year to produce the most creative group of scarecrows ever. This year will be a spectacular display of over 200 amazing scarecrows. The installation will start Sunday evening August 28thand continue throughout the week. Be on the lookout for new additions every day.

Each scarecrow has a pumpkin sign with the name of the local business sponsoring it. All the money raised from the event stays within the Buchanan community. Organizations are welcome to bring Buchanan Scarecrow Charities a funds request for projects or needs large or small.

We also distribute information on our display to the surrounding areas to encourage “scarecrow tourists” and promote Buchanan’s friendly shops and restaurants.

Volunteers and donations are always needed. You can join us at the scarecrow factory at 606A Carroll St.any Tuesday from 10 to2. There is a donation box next to the door. We especially need bib overalls. Adult sizes small or medium and child size 10-12 and down.

About Buchanan Scarecrow Charities: All during the year, volunteers from the Buchanan, Michigan area have created scarecrows to decorate the downtown business area in the fall (Labor Day thru Halloween). In January of 2013 these volunteers formed a non-profit organization called Buchanan Scarecrow Charities. All profits remain local and benefit the Buchanan area.
