Recognition of Visitors

  • Dr. Burnett & Mrs. Robinson welcomed the Varsity Baseball team, Melanie Groves, and Brooke Essig.

Points of Pride

  • 2022 MHSAA Division 3 State Baseball Champions – Coach Brawley along with the Varsity Baseball team were congratulated on their win and took a group photo with the Board.
  • Math & Science Center – Mr. Carlson updated the board that five Buchanan students were recently accepted into the program through a competitive application process.

Presentations

  • Flag Presentation by Buckteens – Jerry Flenar and Sarah Dougherty presented Superintendent Robinson and the School Board a new Michigan flag to fly on the high school flag pole.

Information/Reports & New Business

  • Human Resources Committee, July 6th Meeting – Mrs. Berry shared they spoke about open positions, retention of staff and progress towards filling positions.

Adoption of Consent Agenda

  • MOTION by R. Writer, SECONDED BY Member K. Laesch, the Board of Education approves the consent agenda for the regular board meeting of July 18th, 2022 be adopted as written.

BEA Letter of Agreement – Jessica Leenhouts

  • MOTION by K. Laesch, SECONDED BY Member R. Writer, the Buchanan Community Schools Board of Education approves the attached letter of agreement with the Buchanan Education Association for Jessica Leenhouts.

Questions & Comments from Board Members

  • Dr. Burnett invited the community to National Night Out Against Crime at McCoy Creek Park on August 2nd from 6-9pm.
