DAR National Day of Service October 04 2022
Three Oaks, MI – October 04, 2022
NATIONAL Day of Service met the Rebecca Dewey Chapter on Tuesday, October 11th with the packing of school supplies. This date marks the anniversary of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890. Two women from the north and two women from the south came together in 1890 to found a service organization made up of only women. NSDAR is a lineage service society whose members are direct descendants of the American Revolution.
Rebecca Dewey Chapter, chartered in 1909 in Three Oaks, serves the lower half of the Berrien County. Members gathered on the evening of October 11th to pack school supplies for local schools and the Hindman Settlement School, located in eastern Kentucky, which suffered from the devastation of flooding in August. NSDAR supports this school with funds and donations. Local donations will be made to elementary and high school classes.
