Community Press Release – BDL and Thomas Jolly Antiques Donation Challenge

Thomas Jolly Antiques Donation Challenge for Buchanan District Library Fundraising Campaign

Submitted by Meg Paulette, Buchanan District Library Director
Buchanan, MI – December 15, 2022

Local business owner Tom Jolly of Thomas Jolly Antiques has been a friend and downtown neighbor of the Buchanan District Library for many years. This giving season, Tom has set up a matching challenge with the library to encourage support for the library’s building campaign to fund construction of a large community room on their second floor.

“Buchanan is very fortunate to have such a strong library and what an asset it is to the downtown,” said Tom.

Tom is challenging his fellow community members to contribute to the campaign, and will match up to $2,500 in donations given before the end of the year.

“This project will directly benefit the entire community,” said library director, Meg Paulette Perez. “Our new community room will be available for individuals, groups, and businesses to use. We are also exploring the idea of having a makerspace and small business incubator, with resources such as design software, recording equipment, crafting tools, and more.”

Gifts can be made by check to the Buchanan District Library, or on the library’s website, at www.buchananlibrary.org/support-us/building-campaign.
