A Note from the Editor – Issue 48

A Note from the Editor – Issue 48

by Rebecka Hoyt, Editor

Welcome to our second anniversary of our first issue! Time has gone by so fast it doesn’t even feel like it has been two years. During that time, our team has brought informative stories that matter to our community and those around us. And now, as many of you know, we are on our way to our first quarterly printed issue! We are planning for that to come out around mid-late June this year and yes we are still keeping our regular digital issues.

Our printed issues survey is still open for you to partake in for a couple more weeks. Whether you want a printed issue or not, we would like to know the amount of issues we will have to print and have available in some of our local businesses. This will greatly help us know how our community and readers will want their Buchanan news! So go to our website here to take the survey please. Feel free to share it with your friends, family and neighbors. We will also keep you updated when it’s time to sign up for a subscription.

For the student events during the month of March in our community, The Buchanan Chronicle would like to congratulate the 6-8 grade girls Floor Hockey Team #25 The Buchanan Chronicle on a great season as well as to all of the other Floor Hockey teams! We would also like to congratulate the Boys and Girls Buchanan High School Basketball teams for making it into the semi and quarter-finals games. The girls team are our District and Regional Champions. Megahurtz Robotics came in 14th place at the First Robotics Competition at St. Joseph High School. The High School State Powerlifting Competition took 3rd place. Then on the musical side, Buchanan Middle School Choir went to District Choral Festival for the first time in over 14 years and earned a division II rating; and the Buchanan High School Choir attended District Solo and Ensemble Festival while earning a division II rating. Both the Middle and High School Bands received a division I rating at District Festival. So a busy month for many students, but a great month indeed!

I have to give a shout out to my great team who care deeply for each other and bring great ideas to us. Also to those in and around our community who send us newsworthy articles, we really appreciate it and we couldn’t do it without you. I hope you will enjoy reading this issue and please share it with others so those in our community will know more of what is going on in Buchanan, MI – the nicest place in America.

Happy Reading,
Rebecka Hoyt
