A Trip to Our Local Family Dollar

My wife, the grandkids, and myself went to Family Dollar to do some shopping. As we were in the car, the older grandkid Robert yelled to me and said, “I got $1 dollar to spend and I know what I want.” And I replied back and said, “Good for you, and if you behave then I will double your amount.” Robert replied back, “Thanks, grandpa.”

So, Glen, the youngest of the two, asked what he gets for being good. I thought with no hesitation and said, “You can have 50 cents.” Glen was so happy he bragged to his brother saying he had more money than him as 50 is more than 2! After he found out that he didn’t actually have as much as his brother he replied by saying to grandpa, “You’re cheap, grandpa.” And I replied back, “It’s better than nothing.”
