Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Fifteen-2-Twelve by Evelyn Mae’s BBQ

To perfectly finish off Buchanan’s Restaurant Week, Fifteen-2-Twelve by Evelyn Mae’s BBQ had their official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 3pm. There was a fantastic turn out for the event, just as there has been so much community support for this new restaurant in Buchanan since they opened their doors in February. The Buchanan Chronicle Team even celebrated their yearly anniversary party there (everything was delicious). Thank you to Anton, and his family and team, for doing business here and feeding us in Buchanan – and Congratulations on being officially open!

About Evelyn Mae’s BBQ: Evelyn Mae’s BBQ’s purpose is to provide high quality smoked meats and scratch made sides and sauces. This husband and wife owned business specializes in catering a wide range of events from dinner parties to weddings. Anton and Ariel Lockett created Evelyn Mae’s BBQ through their love and passion for food, cooking, and sharing it with their friends and family. They are high school sweethearts and along with our love, our cooking ability grew as we did. The two began cooking together when they went away to college at Central Michigan University. They were two of the only college students skipping cafeteria food and creating their own four-course meals every night. Anton started grilling on a 14in. portable charcoal grill Ariel bought him at the dollar store for $10. They have now been together and cooking for over 10 years, perfecting their trade and recipes. For each job Anton hand selects quality meats and uses his own house made rubs, then smokes them to perfection. Ariel is the official sous chef and helps create scratch made southern style sides and sauces. Anton originally named the business Lockett Down BBQ a play off of the couple’s last name. However, in February 2018, Anton and Ariel changed the name to Evelyn Mae’s BBQ. Their first born daughter Evelyn Mae tragically passed away January 31st, 2018, after Ariel went into early labor at 20 weeks. Evelyn lived for an hour and a half, she was 13oz and 10in long. With their beautiful daughter’s name branding their business, they pride themselves on making sure to represent her with perfection, because she was perfect.
