Roti Roti Art Center to Receive Endowment to Name Gallery

Submitted by Mary Lister, Roti Roti Art Center Interim Executive Director

The Roti Roti Art Center (RRAC) is pleased to announce that Thomas P. Fehlner will donate $100,000 to their endowment at Michigan Gateway Community Foundation. RRAC’s main gallery will be named The Fehlner Family Gallery.  A dedication reception honoring the Fehlner Family will be held at the Center on Sunday, May 7, at 5:30pm. The public is invited to attend.

Thomas P. Fehlner is Emeritus Grace-Rupley Professor of Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. Tom and his late wife, Nancy, were instrumental in volunteering with the RRAC from its beginning in 2005 to help fund its programming. Tom became more involved with drawing and painting after his retirement from the University. He taught and attended classes at the Center, and helped write grants for capital improvements in the galleries.  He continues to take a keen interest in and support the Center’s activities.
