Buchanan Middle School 5th Graders Learn About Arbor Day From Buchanan Tree Friends, Mayor Sean Denison, and the Miss Buchanan Court

On Thursday, April 27, volunteers from the Buchanan Tree Friends, Mayor Sean Denison, and Miss Buchanan and her court visited Buchanan Middle School. In honor of Arbor Day the following day, the group spoke with fifth-grade students about the importance and benefits of trees. Mayor Sean Denison made an official proclamation to show his support of Arbor Day as well. The icing on the cake of the assembly was each student left with their own tree sapling to take home and plant near their home. Miss Buchanan and her court gave out the saplings to students. Buchanan Middle School students and staff were very grateful for the visit from the mayor, the Miss Buchanan court, and the generosity of the Buchanan Tree Friends!
